Marine Hull Diminution Surveys and NDE/Thickness Gaging

NVI, LLC, a privately owned nationwide industrial solutions provider, offers an array of services. Our Marine Department, being one of the strongest, has years of experience in construction and operations making NVI the cost-effective partner for marine inspections. We understand how crucial it is to marine operators for speed and accuracy – for the fact that each day spent in dry dock represents lost revenue as well as expense. Marine Director, Earl Carmichael, currently holds his eighth issue USCG license which has allowed him to be an excellent instructor and mentor to the technicians here at NVI. The level II technicians have a minimum of four years of in the field experience with new construction on oilfield, industrial, military and U.S. Coastguard vessels. With NVI’s headquarters located in the heart of a robust marine construction industry, our technicians and supervisors command a broad knowledge of NONESP and ESP ship structure such as bulk carriers, oil tankers which aids in the safe, quick, and efficient inspection of marine vessels. NVI also has other office locations in ports along the Gulf Coast (Mobile, Aransas Pass, Houston, and Houma) and the Mississippi River (Belle Chasse and Harahan), we ensure that our reporting department can provide the quickest possible turnaround.

NVI employs operators, supervisors, and technicians certified to inspect, perform thickness gauging, and provide formal hull diminution reports to the several members of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). NVI is an approved provider of class inspection and hull diminution surveys for International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) members such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Lloyd’s Register, Det Norsk Veritas (DNV), and the Isthmus Bureau of Shipping (IBS), and has provided such services since 2004.
