A critical backlog, a narrow window, and no room for drift.
Over a holiday weekend, NVI joined several NDT providers in a large-scale inspection effort designed to reduce a backlog of roughly 1,200 welds spread across multiple modules at a major fabrication yard. The operating goal was clear: move the outstanding weld count below 700 and help the broader project recover momentum.
Yard operations paused for the weekend while inspection crews worked around the clock. The effort demanded more than added labor. It required fast planning, coordinated access, reliable production tracking, and constant communication across a complex, multi-company work environment.
NVI treated the assignment as an opportunity to act as an extension of the client’s team. Resources were allocated from across the company, a focused execution plan was put in place, and every decision was tied back to the client’s production goal.
